Two shells from Turkey (Aegean Sea)
Dear Paul,
The last week of april I was on a holiday in the Aegean. Found some shells in shell grit on an Island in Golikova Bay (Turkey)
which I don't recognise. Maybe you can help?

Hi Jan,picture 1 is of <i>Nassarius cuvieri</i> (Payraudau 1826)the One-banded Nassa a common, but very pretty, Mediterranean shell. I can't make out picture 2 as it is too small.

Dear Paul,
Thanks for the identication of Nassarius cuvieri. For the second one, I enlarged the frontside. Backside should be large enough:

<a href="http://www.badongo.com/t/640/3555544" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/t/640/3555544">http://www.badongo.com/t/640/3555544</a><!-- m --></a>

Then there is this nice Cerithiopsis ?? of 11 mm:
<a href="http://www.badongo.com/t/640/3555574" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/t/640/3555574">http://www.badongo.com/t/640/3555574</a><!-- m --></a>
Dou you now the species? (Also Turkey / Golikova Bay)

At last I would ask you to confirm my identication of this emarginula (same finding place)as Emarginula octaviana:

Hi Jan, still not sure about picture 2 but I think it is a Latyrus of some kind. Can't help with the other two at the moment as my European shell books are out on loan.

Paul,
Thank you. Maybe you remember later to look. If in the meantime I get a solution, I will give you a sign.
