3 Shell Identification - rk - 07-26-2009

I would appreciate if someone could identify 3 shells for me and perhaps were they may have come from.  They were in my father's home collection and I would like to know.  I have placed 2 photos of each shell on flick at <a href="" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href=""></a><!-- m --></a>

3 Shell Identification - paul monfils - 07-26-2009

Pictures 0002 & 0003 are Murex (Muricanthus) nigritus, the Black Murex, from west Central America.

0004 & 0005 are Pleuroploca trapezium, the Trapezium Horse Conch, sometimes called Fox Shell, from the middle western Pacific, probably the Philippines.

0006 & 0007 are Busycon sinistrum, the Lightning Whelk, from Florida and surrounding area.
