3 shells from Mauritius (indopacific)
Hello,
Any help is welcome with these shells from Mauritius (south-west Indian Ocean).

13.5 mm

49 mm

1. Isn't it the well known Polinices tumidus (Swainson, 1840) ?

3. The closest I could get by browsing the internet is Macoma cygnus (Hanley, 1844). That shell could even be a species of Semelidae instead of Tellinidae. It depends on the presence of the internal ligament in the hinge, which isn't quite visible in this picture. --Last edited by mikede on 2010-03-16 18:37:20 --
