I have these 2 tests of sea urchins and i think i have narrowed it down to what i believe are Brissus and Echinocardium species. However i can't actually tell the difference from pictures on the net between the species of each genus. If anyone is familiar with them i appreciate any help..

Mark.

Hi there, the second looks like the Sea Potato, Echinocardium chordatum. I don't know about the first I am afraid.

Just had a Google and the first could be Brissus unicolor.

Are you aware of the ECHINODERM-L list serve - the echinoderm equivalent of CONCH-L?  I have only made use of it a few times over the years, but have always gotten help there.

I posted the link here but for some reason it doesn't work.  However, if you Google "ECHINODERM-L" you can find it.
