I got them about 18 years ago in Mauritius, along with the others I have shown in a separate post. I think the family names are Ovulidae, Harpidae, Strombidae, and Ranellidae. If better photos are required please let me know. Thanks Margaret |

a short addition: Strombus pugilis does live not in Mauritius waters (i think it is from Carribean). Â --Last edited by conchylinet on 2009-07-13 07:24:36 --

Hello,
Strombus pugilis is effectively living in the Caribbean... And you will find in every country Cypraea aurantium too even if it comes from Pacific... Â That is the problem with shops... DAVID |

Is it possible it could be Strombus Alatus?

No, the longer spines on the penultimate whorl tell me it is pugilis.
