Snails from West Africa
Hi,
I'm sending two pictures. The first is a snail from Sikasso Mali
and the secon one is from Uagadugu (Butkina Fhaso), I found it in a River Niger tributary.
Could somebody help to ID?
Thanks in advance.
Rafa.

The snail looks like an immature Achatina. I'm not sure of the species, but will try to look it up this evening, when I have access to my books. Can't help you with the fresh water bivalve. --Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2009-02-02 16:42:08 --

For the bivalve try this website

I have found it very useful for freshwater mussel identification.
