I am looking to id a shell we find while on a cruise to the caribean.  it is clam like, about 2 inches by 1 inch. It is a translucent milky white witha "sunburst" pattern of yellow alternating to orange/pink from it's hinge point.  Thank you for your help to ID this shell

Sounds like a Sunrise Tellin, Tellina radiata. Compare it to these pictures:
