Hello Paul,

Here is a scan of 2 shells from Mediterranean sea.
The big one is the one you identified last time, it is a
dead one much bigger though. You confirm your first id ?
<i>Buccinulum corneum</i> ?

Can you help again with the small one of 10mm ?
It was found during night dive at deaph of 15m of a live red gorgon. Any idea ?

Hi David,

Yes, the large shell is Buccinulum corneum (Linne, 1758). The small one appears to be Muricopsis cristatus (Brocchi, 1814). The reddish color and small size are typical of specimens growing on reddish bryozoans and soft corals.
