Polished or Raw/Natural?

If You collect or buy seashell, do you prefer polished or natural/raw seashell? and why?
Because I am confuse, whether to choose a polished or a raw shell.

You mean naturally polished shell ? Shell collectors do not collect polished shells. These are for tourists...  ;D Though you can use mineral oil on some of them to get them look much better.
Cowries are naturally polished. If they lots their shiny looking that mean they have no collecting value...

Yes, that what I mean David. because I saw it on souvenir store, it looks shiny than what I found on the beach.
