Common bivalves from Dubai
Hello,

this are two common bivalve species on Dubai. Does anybody know the species?, Perhaps the first one could be a Cardita?

Thank you.

I think the first one is Cardites bicolor.

Hi taxateca,

the second one reminds me of the genus Corbicula (Corbiculidae), native to Asia and deported to many countries (still spreading all over the world). It's a fresh water genus, but it's not unusual to find fresh water species at the beach (transported to the beach by rivers and creeks).
See NEUBERT, E. (1998): Annotated checklist of the terrestrial and fresh water molluscs of the Arabian Peninsula with descriptions of new species -- Fauna of Arabia 17: 333-461; (p. 438f).

I'm not sure at all, but this might be an idea.......!?? .

Kind regards: wolf
