Wanted: Confirmation on shell identification from Nova Scotia
Hello, I am looking for confirmation on some seashells that I have found .
I have an idea of what they might be, but for labelling purposes, I would like to be sure
Thank you !
(Sorry for huge pictures again)

These ones sort of look like baby moon snails, but I'd like to make sure . They are approximately 1/3 of an inch long

<img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl002.jpg" alt="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl002.jpg" style="border:0" />
These ones I really don't know what they could be. They are also 1/3 of an inch long

<img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl003.jpg" alt="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl003.jpg" style="border:0" />
These are unfortunately cracked, I was told they might be baby razor/bar clams . I don't know for sure

<img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl004.jpg" alt="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl004.jpg" style="border:0" />
I don't know what these ones could be .

<img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl005.jpg" alt="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd78/xxx_bekkie/Shelsl005.jpg" style="border:0" />
Lastly, I wanted to make sure that these are Limpets, particularily atlantic plate limpets

Thank you so much !  <span class="petit">--Last edited by bekkievandenberg on 2010-08-09 20:22:43 --</span>

S. costata ranges from Eastern Canada to New Jersey. I have collected them in northern Massachusetts.  Actually, my first thought when I saw these was that they were a species of Gari or Tagelus, in the family Sanguinolariidae (Gariidae).  However, I don't know of any members of that group that range that far north, so I went with Siliqua.  You can confirm this by looking at the interior of the shell. Siliqua has a sort of raised rib running across the interior of the shell, from the hinge area to the opposite side.  If these don't have it, we'll have to take another look at Gariidae.  <span class="petit">--Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2010-08-10 00:59:03 --</span>
