Different identifying marks in Harpa species?
I was wanting to know if there are any different ID markings between H. major, H. davidis and H. articularis. I have looked through countless field guides & without written descrïptions, I can't distinguish between them. Only the listed names give away the species.
What should I look for in case I receive an unknown Harpa that looks most like either of these three species?

Just last week there was a discussion on this topic on Conch-L. If you would like to review this discussion, which includes an offer of a recent article by the author, go to http://www.listserv.uga.edu/archives/conch-l.html and select July 2010, week 2. There you will find several references to the topic "Those Beautiful Harps", with a dozen or so total messages. --Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2010-07-17 03:13:59 --
