Re: limpets
Hello.
Origin data would be helpful. The first images might be Cellana sp. The last two images seems to represent a Siphonariidae (Siphonaria sp.) but it's a bit dark. Pierre |

Re: limpets
Hello.
Thanks, brighter pictures are better. I believe all the limpets are Cellana radiata (Born 1778), but it's a hard genus to tell the species apart. The last shell could well be Siphonaria laciniosa (Linne 1758). Pierre |

Re: limpets
Hi Pierre,
i think # 1 is a pattelloida specie because of its longer forms and not round. it looks like patteloida profunda but im not sure. the photo i post is 17.5 mm. # 2 i guess you are correct that is cellana radiata. the specie is so variable, i cant distinguish the many forms of it. size : 40mm. # 3 it seems it more looks like cellana testudinaria Linnaeus, C., 1758 size : 67mm. # 4 thanks for the family name but it seems more like siphonaria atra Quoy & gaimard,1832 size 19.5 mm.
