I hope this is the appropriate subforum
I live in West Central Texas, so I'm nowhere near any beaches. I'm a full time student, so taking a trip to Corpus whenever I like isn't really doable. I do live near the Concho River (I'm in San Angelo). We also have Lake Nasworthy, and two reservoirs (O.C. Fisher and Twin Buttes). Forgive my flagrant ignorance, as I'm very new to this, but can I find any shells in or near these bodies of water (I doubt the reservoirs)? I ask you this because you all are actual shell collectors, and the powers that be in SA probably don't know squat about these kinds of things. I know this is a long shot. Many people give me this perplexed look when I tell them where I'm from. Nobody seems to have heard of us, lol. I'm holding out hope that maybe some of you have heard of the area, since the Concho River apparently is home to a mussel which produces a very unique, distinct pearl. |
