unknown bivalve from SW Australia

Hi,
Another unknown shell below. It has been found beached in SouthWestern Australia and 15mm long. I have no idea of its family aswell and I am not sure it is a marine specie.
Thanks for any clue.

Hi Pierre,
It is sure this is a marine species.
There is a species close to this shape in New Zealand : <i>Spisula aequilatera</i>.
Maybe you can try that way<img src="images/smiley/wink.gif" alt="" border="0" />

Don't know the species but you could try the family Mesodesmatidae.

The hinge structure of this shell certainly doesn't belong to a member of Mesodesmatidae.

Hi all,
I think Khan is right, also in the Mediterranean sea there is a shell like this, it is spisula subtruncata family Mactridae.
