chitons
I take walks on the beach and found a dead chiton, I would like to perserve it along with my starfish I found. Â Is there a way to perserve chitons?
Thank you for your help   <img src="images/smiley/smile.gif" alt="" border="0" /> |

For very small species I just get them to crawn onto a piece of flat plastic, tie them as discussed elsewhere then put them in the freezer. After a day or so I take them out and just dry them on a radiator, still tied to the plastic. It does not preserve them as well as the glycerin method but there is no issue with mould.
