Micro-shells ID needed
Hi everybody,

I'm totally new at this and at first i'll need all the help u can give me at identifying what i've got.I live in Greece and most of the shells i have are endemic here.Anyone has any idea about the species of these microshells?I appreciate any help.

Hi Mark,

the three shells on the right look like Littorina neritoides (Linne, 1758), the upper left one is likely a Naticidae. The lower left shell looks for me more like a freshwater specie. A shot of the shells from the ventral side (from "below") would be helpful.

Mike they're all seawater species.They were found live beneath sea-level.Could they possibly all belong to the same species with some variations due to age??Here's some more pics.

Yes, they are all of the same species: Littorina neritoides (Linne, 1758). The new pictures make that clear <img src="images/smiley/smile.gif" alt="" border="0" />.
