Mediterranean Limpet searching for her specie.
2 mm ?? Â Wow! Â What are you using for a camera? Â In the Mediterranean there are a few species of very tiny limpets of the genus Propilidium, in the family Lepetidae. Â And, also a few species of Cocculina, in the family Cocculinidae. It could be one of these. Â But I think it is going to be difficult to ID with any degree of certainty. Â Your shell could also be a small juvenile of a larger species. There are several limpet species in your area, including Cellana radiata, Patella caerulea, Patella rustica, and perhaps Patella ferruginea and Patella ulyssiponensis. Your shell could be a juvenile of any of them.
