Cribrarula cumingii form cleopatra - FACTS
To all those that might think that cumingii cleopatra it is a big cumingii are wrong. They exist from 13 mm and it explained by a structural difference, not its size.

As a marine biologist that i am i would never consider a certain form just for the size. No scientifical basis , and it would turn into the made up or dubious form and thats not the case.

Cribrarula cumingii - cylindrical ; sharp ( no evident high marginal callousity ) and it is just what separates it from cleopatra.

Cribrarula cleopatra - cylindrical ; evident high margins as it happens for astaryi but slender in shape ; and it just what separates it from this.

Cribrarula astaryi - globular in shape ; high margins .

All these are structural differencies, those kind that leads to a certain form.

Just check, <a href="http://www.femorale.com" target="_blank"><!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.femorale.com">www.femorale.com</a><!-- w --></a>, shell gallery , cribarula cumingii ; cleopatra and astaryi.

Sizes , colors , spots or other kind of variables does not account in biological terms. Shape does, and this are what forms reffers to.

Size it is just a curiosity, and i dont belive that Schilders with all the work they have performed ,would loose time with this kind of manoovers.

The lesson i take with all this its simple. Look at the shape, not its size.

Kind regards
