Seashell Identification Help??
1) Â Bursa (Bufonaria) perelegans - family Bursidae - Indo-Pacific region
2) Â This is a Thais species, family Muricidae - probably Thais haemastoma floridana from Florida. 3) Â Yes, Pectinidae. Â Looks like Pecten albicans, a commercially important species from Japan 4) Â Unknown bivalve, probably family Veneridae 5) Â A Tapes species, family Veneridae, probably Tapes philippinarum, which was originally from the tropical Indo-Pacific, but has now been introduced into Western North America and Europe. 6) Â This is an Anomia species, family Anomiidae, probably Anomia simplex from the eastern United States. 7) Â Unknown bivalve. The exterior looks like a Glycymeris, but not sure. 8) Â Chlamys (Swiftopecten) swifti - family Pectinidae - from Japan |
