Help to ID a small lot of shells, please
Hello!
1. A fresh water mussel, perhaps an Anodonta (fresh water shells are not my forte) 2. Guildfordia triumphans, Triumphant Star Shell, Western Pacific 3. Two similar species here. The one with black markings only, partially hidden behind the Liguus, is Nerita tessellata, Tesselata Nerite. The other 3 are Nerita versicolor, Varicolored Nerite or 4-Toothed Nerite. Both are from Florida/Caribbean. 4. Liguus virgineus, a land snail (tree snail actually) from Hispaniola 5. Busycon sinistrum, Lightning Whelk (a juvenile specimen), Florida 6. Tellina radiata, Sunrise Tellin, Florida/Caribbean 7. Mitra mitra, Episcopal Miter, Western Pacific --Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2008-07-25 18:45:54 -- |
