Shelling in eastern Crete
Dear all
I planned to spend 1st week of july in dredging/snorkeling in Mirampelou Gulf, along coast between Elounda/Spinalonga and the southern end of the gulf. Also maybe a pair of days near Ierapetra, with a jump to Chrysi island and its famous rose-colored sandy beach named "Golden beach"!!!

Any good places, sandy coves, sheltered bays ? the dredge has a 35m long rope, thus I suppose I could swim and pull this thing upon bottoms at 15/20m deep (yes, propulsion is supplied by legs...) How is the bottom on southern coast? I look for soft grounds, of course.

Thanks in advance for any opinion, idea, etc.

Olivier
