Sae shells from Borneo
Hi.
All this shells was collectec the last Agoust in Malay part of Borneo Island. Exactly in Pulau Mamutik a little island infront of Kota Kinabalu.
Can you help me to ID?

Hello
1. Acrosterigma flava (i.e. Trachycardium flavum) Linne 1758.
2. no idea
3. Cellana sp (radiata, livescens ?)
4. Nerita albicilla Linne 1758
5. perhaps Nerita costata Gmelin 1791

The second one looks like a juvenile Strombus but I can't tell what species it is.  It is photographed at a slightly odd angle.  A straight-on ventral view showing more of the spire and apex might be helpful.  I believe #5 is Nerita exuvia  L., 1758.  <span class="petit">--Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2009-10-18 22:00:57 --</span>

Agree with Paul on #5. I've got couple of those from the Sapi Island, which is just a couple kilometers away from Mamutik.

I have similar shells like #1 and also from Borneo, which I identified as Vasticardium compunctum (Kira, 1959), but I am not sure of my ID.
