Cymbiola imperialis
This is one of my favourite shells.
It was purchased from a gift shop in Lynmouth, Devon in
May 2008 together with a few cones.
Although I already had several hundred shells collected from dredged material at Jizan,Saudi Arabia (on the Red Sea) when I was working there in 1979,
it was my first purchase of any seashell and got me hooked on collecting.
The camera used was a Nikon D5000 with a Nikkor 18-105 mm zoom lens.
Two images were combined and text added using Photoshop CC.
