Cassidae
Can't find shell number 2 which is listed as Phallium adcocki but may be named Semicassis adcocki. It's tiny so could be anywhere at this stage, hopefully will come across it later.

This is shell number 3 which is listed as Phalium sinuosum but may be known as Semicassis sinuosum.
Once again seems paler than any internet photo's but size, location, pattern seems about right. Anyone happy to confirm? Also which is the correct name? Thanks, Nat.

Hi Nat,
Yes, this does appear to be Semicassis (Antephalium) sinuosum. Pictures of this species are almost non-existent online, and a couple of pictures shown online as this species are not actually this species. But your shell is a good match for the illustration in Recent Cassidae by Kurt Kreipl, 1997.

Semicassis adcocki is quite different in shape and pattern, with an angled shoulder, ribs on the posterior body whorl, and rows of small dark squarish spots. http://www.gastropods.com/2/Shell_2782.shtml

RE: Cassidae
Thanks Paul, I'm looking through a collection of thousands of shells so hopefully Semicassis adcocki will show up.
It is hard to find descriptions/pictures of some of the shells I'm looking for but for whatever reason they were important to the person that collected them so I'm determined to find them if they are still in there.
It's also a good way for me to sort through the shells and learn about the collection.
Shell number four on the list is Conus victoriae. Was hoping it would be easy to find but looks like there are plenty of pattern/colour variations. See how i go.........

Yes, C. victoriae is one of the more variable species of cones, yet not likely to confuse with other species once you become familiar with it.
