Hybrid between Lambis Crocata and Scorpius?
We have A curious specimen possessing certain characteristics of both scorpius and crocata., the dorsal structure appears intermediate between the scorpius and crocata, especially as regards to the size and number of knobs, the digitations are identical in size and curvature to those of scorpius, but lacks the digital crimping of that species, the aperture is bright orange ( similar to crocata), until more material is available, best considered as a hybrid (c.f.wheelwright). Soft orange colour around the edge at aperture. Digitations are brown tipped. Location Visayan Sea. Length 115mm

The specimen can be viewed at <a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400103489922" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400103489922">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0103489922</a><!-- m --></a>
