Having a shell of a time identifying these! - kashka - 03-25-2010

Sorry for the pun! ..I am very new to seashells and I don't know where to start. This afternoon I found these in a local shop and as I collect everything from rocks to feathers I was thinking these would be another great thing to add to the shelves.Unfortunately living smack in the middle of the Canadian prairie I don't get to see or find many great shells like I have seen on this forum. So I was wondering if you kind people could give me a start..thanks so much n advance..

Wow..thanks so much for the ids,Paul! I was thinking a couple may be of the Murex type from what I have seen on the net but there is such a variety of them I don't think I could identify them properly..I'm glad to be able to put a name to them so now I will be able to research and read up on them. And thankyou for the kind offer..I may take you up on that someday..cause I think this could become addicting....Thanks so much again and have wonderful evening!
