Oops! - dave r - 02-18-2010 Hi, it is a Jacknife Clam. The Genus is Ensis but I would need to know exactly where it came from to say more than that. There are loads of species of Ensis worldwide, and they all look more-or-less the same. Some can only be told apart by close examination of the muscle scars inside the shells. Dave Oops! - mary ellen - 02-18-2010 I'm sorry, I neglected to include this photo in my last post. Can you tell me what this shell might be? http://www.badongo.com/pic/8805198 Thank you. Oops! - mary ellen - 02-18-2010 Thanks, Dave. I don't know where it's from. I've had it in my shell collection for quite a while. |
