A NEW SHELL TO IDENTIFY - dave r - 10-26-2009 1 1/2 inches is too big for ziczac which also has a brown, not a white base. It is certainly a juvenile, you can tell by the exposed spire which would be calloused over in an adult, and the lack of callosity on the base leaving the pattern exposed. The pattern looks very juvenile too, very smudged and banded. I still would not like to say which species though. Dave A NEW SHELL TO IDENTIFY - paul monfils - 10-26-2009 I believe it's Cypraea arabica. Â It isn't elongate enough for C. scurra or C. eglantina, too broad on top for C. depressa or C. maculifera, and the rest of the arabica complex doesn't occur in Polynesia.
