Identification help - paul monfils - 07-05-2009 This is a Turritella. Â I appears to be a fairly worn beach specimen, which makes it more difficult to name the exact species. Â Also, listing the size would help, and of course the locality where collected would be a great help though I realize that information is often unavailable. Â Best guess - Turritella duplicata from the indian Ocean. Â If the shell is large, over 80 mm, I would be fairly confident about that ID. Â If it is smaller then there are other possibilities though it could still be a small duplicata.
