Shells from Lake Erie - crow - 04-16-2009 Hi everyone. I am from Canada and recently bought a place by Lake Erie, so I've been enjoying the beach and finding shells. Mostly they are freshwater mussels etc but I have two I cannot identify. Sorry the pic is not the best my camera isn't very good. They are both small-the one on the left is fingernail sized. Thank you Shells from Lake Erie - crow - 04-16-2009 Thanks for doing that Paul! I'm the same-not much knowledge of freshwater used to collect saltwater shells as a child and have books on those. I guess freshwater is not so popular there is not much on the net about them. Have a great day happy shelling! Shells from Lake Erie - paul monfils - 04-16-2009 Hi, Yes the picture is not very clear. I'm not very knowledgeable about fresh water shells anyway, but hopefully someone here is. I couldn't open the picture by the usual route, but managed to get it open in a roundabout way. I took the liberty of reposting it in a different format, for anyone else who might not be able to open it above. Here it is: http://members.cox.net/mollusca/FWsnails.jpg |
