Shell from philipines? - gee - 12-22-2007

Hi, my mum has recently purchased many of these shell from Philipines market. I am curious with the name of these shell.

Shell from philipines? - paul monfils - 12-22-2007

1. Conus marmoreus (Marble Cone)
2. Tridacna squamosa (Fluted Giant Clam)
3. This is a species of Melo, commonly called "Melon Shells". To be certain of the species I would have to see the end of the shell that is facing away in the photo. If the shell has a row of short sharp spines around that end it is Melo broderippii (Crowned Melon or Crowned Bailer or Broderipp's Melon). If that end of the shell is smooth with no spines it is Melo melo (Common Melon Shell or Indian Volute).
4. Pleuroploca trapezium (Trapezium Horse Conch)
5. Terebra maculata (Marlinspike Auger)
6. Cypraea tigris (Tiger Cowrie)
