This is Murex (Hexaplex) regius, the Regal Murex, from West Central America. Value in prime condition, about $10.00.  This one has an obvious large chip at the lower end, and these frequently have borings and other damage on the upper side.

THANK YOU SO MUCH PAUL YOU MAY BE SICK OF ME BEFORE ITS OVER BUT I HAVE 100 MORE SHELLS I WOULD LIKE TO POST AND FIND OUT ABOUT.

I would suggest taking some group photos, maybe a dozen shells in one picture. One pic showing straight on bottom views of the shells, another showing straight on top (dorsal) views of the same shells.  That would save a lot of time and work, and usually that is sufficient to get an ID if the pictures are sharp.
