Is conus perplexus a rare cone? - shellhunk - 08-03-2007

Hi guys. Just want to know if a puzzled cone rare or uncommon. At least is large sizes. Because the only speciments that I find in the internet are less than 25mm. I have two 33mmm and 31mm, in great condition, from Mexico, caught way 1940-1970s by a collector. I'm beginning to doubt they are even perplexus because of the size. Or i'm thinking they are world record sizes. haha

By the way, I'm thinking of selling my entire small collection if I don't recover from a previous financial loss because I was scammed. But I hope it won't come to that point. Most are cowries and cones. All I have right now is a list in excel format with grading, descrïption, etc.

Conus perplexus is a common species. Gem specimens of average size can be had for under $5.00. Very large specimens (over 40 mm) in good condition are uncommon and might sell for three to four times that amount.
