Identification Help - haley_nicole - 06-22-2012

I need some help in identifying (if possible) some of these shells I collected on the NW coast of Florida last week.  If one or more is unidentifiable, please tell me. I understand that their condition is poor, but I just want to know for myself what kind of shell each is. Thanks!

Haley N.

Hello Haley,

The upper left shell is an egg cockle, scientific name Laevicardium laevigatum.
Upper right is a Florida fighting conch, Strombus alatus.
Lower right is probably another fighting conch, but too worn to be certain.
Likewise for lower left.
