given a C1900 collectors cabinet full of shells - dooly - 03-27-2012

Hi all .. New to this but i have been left a collectors cabinet full of shells fossils and Neolithic worked flint .. i have taken the pictures before i look through it and tidy it up

the collection dates from 1880 to 1930 and i was wondering if there is anything i should watch out for like endangered species or rare types ect

also two pictures of REAL flying fish from 1928 /29 with where they were caught (will look them up later) ..

Very nice indeed! Looks to be a mixture of British and foreign shells there but as they are so old there should be no problem with protected species, I can't actually see any rare or protected ones there anyway.
The books are also very good, the 1840 one is VERY old!
Enjoy, and I hope it cultivates a new hobby!
Dave

Very nice, I can see some good shells there.
I had the same problem, too many hobbies and not enough time so I cut down to just two, shells and Lepidoptera. Now I divide my time and money equally between them.
