Conus ID - helmetapointe - 03-13-2012 I'm not sure if this shells are " abbas, or textile sp. " From N.W. Sri Lanka Thank you in advance Re: Conus ID - paul monfils - 03-13-2012 These are Conus abbas. Re: Sri Lanka - Conus ID - helmetapointe - 03-14-2012 Thank you Paul, i'm happy to hear this. What to you think about this 3, also from S.L. G.G.Duprét is talking about " conus canonicus " with white inside. http://troquillage.free.fr/C/CANONICUS, ... index.html Is this " Conus canonicus " ? * Femorale also show canonicus from S.L. Re: Conus ID - dave r - 03-14-2012 I would say #2 was textile. #1 and #3 may be canonicus. They may even all be textile! Note the netted pattern is much 'looser' in these compared to abbas. Re: Conus ID - helmetapointe - 03-16-2012 Thank you Dave ! Probably all textile. Re: Conus ID - conpa - 03-17-2012 I agree, these are all Conus textile. Re: Conus ID - helmetapointe - 03-18-2012 thx conpa ! Re: Conus ID - dave r - 03-18-2012 Go with him, conpa knows far more about Conidae than I do. |
