mitridae - diocrisseashells1000 - 02-27-2012 Hello collectors this two mitras looks the same , but i dont know the names, can anyone id it?  10.5mm 12.5mm thanks Diocris Re: mitridae - paul monfils - 02-29-2012 Looks rather faded (beach specimen?), but based on the shape and sculpture I'd say Mitra chrysalis, and based on the small size and thin lip, immature. Re: mitridae - diocrisseashells1000 - 02-29-2012 Hi Paul, Thanks for your reply, I attach 2 images of M.chrysalis for comparison, #1 is the photo including the 2 specimen on the left side and the rest is different sizes of m.chrysalis. #1.  2. Are two specimen of m.chrysalis almost same size of the un id mitras; #2.  I might guess the 2 un id mitras as immature m.ticaonica but there is one thing different as i compare it to my m.ticaonica species, the images i post has somewhat have dashes of white on the body not found in ticaonica..... so im still hanging on what this might be :,even if we say it is still immature specie. Any opinion? Diocris |
