adraitic sea snails - BubikolRamios - 11-17-2011 location:http://boulter.com/gps/?c=45.578570%2013.736343 Turritellidae I guess: 1.http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery_one_image.jsp?id_galery_obfuscated=8da360c679734479b73f760bdb7daa02 Looks like Turritella communis, but exit is very rectangular 2.http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery_one_image.jsp?id_galery_obfuscated=251c36a01bb44bbfb5a777073b58c92d 3. ? http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery_one_image.jsp?id_galery_obfuscated=1547d23ca687429c90e0b20598104131 Re: adraitic sea snails - paul monfils - 11-19-2011 1. Not Turritellidae. These are all species of Cerithiidae or Cerithidiidae. I think there are at least 4 species here. Some may be Bittium scabrum. Others may be species of Cerithidiopsis. I'm not sure of the species. 2. The rectangular mouth is typical of Turritella monterosatoi and Turritella turbona. This may be a small juvenile of one of those. 3. This is family Rissoidae. Perhaps Rissoina violacea, not certain. Re: adraitic sea snails - BubikolRamios - 11-27-2011 Thanks. For start I took out 2 small black: http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery_one_image.jsp?id_galery_obfuscated=cc7bab8c05b6417598672bc287ad69fe those should be bittium scabrum ? I see some differences but the same difference is seen here: http://www.idscaro.net/sci/04_med/class/fam3/species/bittium_scabrum1.htm Re: adraitic sea snails - poseidon - 12-01-2011 my opinion into the first pic has just only bittium reticulatum, the second pic is showing a turritella turbona ( as long as t. monterosatoi doesn't living in adriatic sea. any how the monterosatoi actually is no longer accepted. in fact seems to be syn. of turbona. meaning that the monterosatoi is just a jumbo size of turbona). the shell in the last pic seems to be a rissoa labiosa Re: adraitic sea snails - BubikolRamios - 12-04-2011 Thanks for opinions. |
