Bivalves from the Mediterenian Sea - yoavab - 07-22-2018

Hi All,

I've recently organized my collection and did a review on my Cockles, which until now I thought were all the same.
as I looked closer I noticed I can divide them into groups.

can you help me subdivide them into genera? are they all truly belong to the Cardiidae family?

Thank You,

Yoav

This is rather difficult because many of the shells are beach eroded, which changes the shape of the ribs, and removes spines that may have been present. And, there is no size reference (a ruler in the pictures), which would also be helpful. That having been said, I am pretty confident that the following species are here: Acanthocardia echinata, Acanthocardia tuberculata, Clinocardium ciliatum. And quite possibly a couple of others.
