Small & tough gastropods identification - conchylinet - 09-24-2011 Good day I have these small gastropods from a rocky area in Mauritius. They are very small and I could not identify them. Any help is welcome, the pictures are below. A. that one is 6mm and looks like a Trochidae. B. this one is 5mm C. this one is 7mm D. that one is huge about 15mm ! E. another micro 6mm Thanks Pierre Re: Small & tough gastropods identification - Emma - 09-26-2011 Pierre, The last shell seems to belong to the Columbellidae family, by the shape of the mouth. I wish I could help more! Best wishes, Emma. Re: Small & tough gastropods identification - paul monfils - 09-26-2011 D. looks like Mitra (Nebularia) cucumerina. B. is probably a species of Rissoidae, but I can't go beyond that. Re: Small & tough gastropods identification - diocrisseashells1000 - 09-26-2011 Hello Pierre, C. Is Philbertia (Pseudodaphnella) granicostata. Reeve L.A., 1846. It was once part of the TURRIDAE family but now separately put in RAPHITOMIDAE family. Cheers, Diocris.
