Conus (Leporiconus) coffeae: Conoidea: Conidae - JackSullivan - 08-05-2017 Wonderful shell from a European seller: 31.8 mm. I believe the dark color is eumelanin, an oxidative polymer of the amino acid tyrosine that is commonly found in cones to create black to brown pigmentation. Bohol, PI. Jack |
