HELP IDENTIFYING - bobbymila - 12-07-2014 I NEED HELP IDENTIFYING THESE SHELLS RE: HELP IDENTIFYING - paul monfils - 12-08-2014 Ok, these are less challenging than the previous group. Picture 1 & 2 - The ones with the pink interior are Hexaplex erythrostomus. The larger, darker colored ones are Muricanthus nigritus. Both in the family Muricidae. Picture 3 - Terebra robusta. family Terebridae. Picture 4 - See next post. Picture 5 - The glossy ones are Cypraea spadicea, the Chestnut Cowrie, from southern California or outer Baha. There is also a Fusinus in the box, and a few smaller shells I cannot see clearly. |
