"Moon Snails" is the common name for most of the species in the family Naticidae.  This species is known as Sharkeye Moon Snail or simply Common Atlantic Moon Snail.  Remember that a species may have a number of different common names, especially if it occurs over a large geographic range.  This species occurs from Cape Cod to Texas.  You may also see the scientific name as Neverita duplicata.
