A friend sent me this small stromb from Mauritius. It is from Mon Choisy Beach. I'm new at shell ID s still, so would appreciate any help possible!

Hi,
This is Canarium urceus ("Strombus urceus" in the general sense).  It is the commonest species in the family Strombidae, and also the most variable species in that family.  The range of colors, patterns, and to some extent shape is really amazing.  It is found all over the Indo-Pacific region.
