Re: help identifying sea shell! - paul monfils - 12-23-2010 These are both color forms of Strombus (Canarium) urceus, commonly called "Little Bear Conch". It is an extremely common species throughout the Indo-Pacific region, and is exported literally by the ton for shell craft and other uses. It is also a very variable species, occurring in many colors and patterns, and also varying quite a bit in shape.
