Identify conus - ishinoseana or orbignyi? - andrey - 11-10-2010 Hello all, Please help me in identifying this conus. Bought as Conus ishinoseana, but it seems very similar to Conus orbignyi Philippines, 74 ?? Thanks, Andrey Re: Identify conus - ishinoseana or orbignyi? - paul monfils - 11-12-2010 This is Conus orbignyi. Â Conus ichinoseana Has a nearly smooth body whorl with virtually no sculpture, and does not have nodules on the whorls of the spire. Â The pattern of C. ichinoseana, while variable, is usually quite different from this as well. http://members.cox.net/mollusc/zzConusichinoseana.jpg Re: Identify conus - ishinoseana or orbignyi? - andrey - 11-12-2010 Thank you Paul!
