Shells and art - khan - 05-09-2010

Hello everybody,
I am actually student in art and I realize paintings and drawings of shells and molluscs (see the examples below)
I look for naturalists drawers to know how they work, in which conditions and for which reasons.

<img src="http://www.khanshells.com/uploads/images-services/aquarelles.jpg" alt="http://www.khanshells.com/uploads/images-services/aquarelles.jpg" style="border:0" />
Watercolor on textured paper

Indian ink on smooth paper

The graphic creation on the theme of the shell is very interesting and meets in all the history of malacology, but the illustrators make rarer since the advent of photography.
If you know examples of artists which work on this theme, I am interested.
Thanks

Khan, did you do those paintings and drawings?

Hello Dave,
Yes I did those works.
This is one of my favourite activity.
I try to work on ink drawings every day for training <img src="images/smiley/jap.gif" alt="" border="0" />
