First Post and looking for help - bharmer - 12-01-2008 Hi, everyone, This is my first post here and I am actually looking for help. My grandmother was an avid collector of seashells. A few months ago she passed away and before she passed she made it clear that her seashell collection would go to me. I have decided that I want to donate her entire collection to a local high school for their oceanopgraphy program. However, the school said that they would like me to get the collection appraised. I am having problems finding someone that can appraise this collection. It is quite an extensive collection (a couple of thousand shells). I have found many reciepts of her buying shells. Most of them came from Richard M. Kurz inc. in Wisconsin. I am under the impression that the copmany no longer exsists because I can't find any information about them. The collection is in Kansas City. If anyone can offer me some help I would greatly appreciate it. First Post and looking for help - paul monfils - 12-19-2008 There used to be a shell collectors' club in St. Louis. Â I'm not sure if it still exists. Â You can find the contact information here ... http://www.conchologistsofamerica.org/clubs/ The link to the website no longer works but perhaps you can reach the contact person. |
