Wanted: Confirmation on shell identification from Nova Scotia - bekkievandenberg - 08-09-2010 Hello, I am looking for confirmation on some seashells that I have found . I have an idea of what they might be, but for labelling purposes, I would like to be sure Thank you ! (Sorry for huge pictures again) These ones sort of look like baby moon snails, but I'd like to make sure . They are approximately 1/3 of an inch long These ones I really don't know what they could be. They are also 1/3 of an inch long These are unfortunately cracked, I was told they might be baby razor/bar clams . I don't know for sure I don't know what these ones could be . Lastly, I wanted to make sure that these are Limpets, particularily atlantic plate limpets Thank you so much ! Wanted: Confirmation on shell identification from Nova Scotia - paul monfils - 08-10-2010 S. costata ranges from Eastern Canada to New Jersey. I have collected them in northern Massachusetts. Â Actually, my first thought when I saw these was that they were a species of Gari or Tagelus, in the family Sanguinolariidae (Gariidae). Â However, I don't know of any members of that group that range that far north, so I went with Siliqua. Â You can confirm this by looking at the interior of the shell. Siliqua has a sort of raised rib running across the interior of the shell, from the hinge area to the opposite side. Â If these don't have it, we'll have to take another look at Gariidae.
